The Spice Girls were in a movie, here is some information about the movie....
Spice World is a 1997 British-American musical comedy film directed by Bob Spiers and written by Kim Fuller and Jamie Curtis. The film stars pop girl group the Spice Girls who all play their respective selves in the film. The lighthearted comedy — made in a similar vein to The Beatles' A Hard Day's Night (1964) — depicts a series of fictional events leading up to a major concert at London's Royal Albert Hall, liberally interspersed with dream sequences and flashbacks as well as surreal moments and humorous asides.

The Spice Girls use the phrase Girl Power and many fans thought that they were the first ones to use this phrase. But this is not so...
One of the earliest uses of the phrase "Girl Power" was in 1987 by a London based 'capella' all-girl group called 'Mint Juleps' in a song entitled 'Girl to the Power of 6'. It was subsequently used in a fanzine by punk bandBikini Kill. The phrase is sometimes spelled as "grrrl power", initially associated with Riot Grrrl.[1][2]
"Girl power" was later utilized by a number of bands during the early 1990s, such as the Welsh indie band Helen Love[3] and the Plumstead pop-punk duo Shampoo,[4] who released an album and single titled Girl Power in 1995.
In September 1995, they signed a record deal with Virgin Records. Having changed their name to The Spice Girls along the way, the new girl band finally released their debut single “Wannabe” in the UK in July 1996, amid a flurry of anticipation and hyped-up publicity. The song entered the charts at number 3, before moving up to number One the following week, where it remained for seven weeks running. The song “Wannabe” soon became a global hit, and went on to make number One of no less than an astonishing 31 countries, thus becoming the biggest selling debut single by an all-female group of all time.

I really like the Spice Girls.
So that is why I picked them for my blog.

My very favorite song is Wannabe.
Here are the lyrics for Wannabe

Ha ha ha ha ha
Yo, I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want
I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want
I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha)
I wanna really, really, really wanna zigazig ah
If you want my future, forget my past
If you wanna get with me, better make it fast
Now don't go wasting my precious time
Get your act together we could be just fine
I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want
I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha)
I wanna really, really, really wanna zigazig ah
If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends
(Gotta get with my friends)
Make it last forever, friendship never ends
If you wanna be my lover, you have got to give
Taking is too easy, but that's the way it is
Oh, what do you think about that
Now you know how I feel
Say, you can handle my love, are you for real
(Are you for real)
I won't be hasty, I'll give you a try
If you really bug me then I'll say goodbye
Yo I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want
I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha)
I wanna really, really, really wanna zigazig ah
If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends
(Gotta get with my friends)
Make it last forever, friendship never ends
If you wanna be my lover, you have got to give
(You've got to give)
Taking is too easy, but that's the way it is
So, here's a story from A to Z
You wanna get with me, you gotta listen carefully
We got Em in the place who likes it in your face
You got G like MC who likes it on a...
Easy V doesn't come for free, she's a real lady

And as for me, ha you'll see
Slam your body down and wind it all around
Slam your body down and wind it all around
If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends
(Gotta get with my friends)
Make it last forever, friendship never ends
If you wanna be my lover, you have got to give
(You've got to give)
Taking is too easy, but that's the way it is
If you wanna be my lover
You gotta, you gotta, you gotta, you gotta, you gotta
Slam, slam, slam, slam (make it last forever)
Slam your body down and wind it all around
Slam your body down and wind it all around
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha

Slam your body down and wind it all around
Slam your body down and zigazig ah
If you wanna be my lover
